Croatian shops are always wonderful for all kinds of goods, including jewelry, fabrics, furniture, glassware, artwork and so much more.
However, the souvenirs of Croatia deserve a category all their own. Here are a few terms that will help you shop for the most unique souvenirs that Croatia has to offer.
Istria, or “istarski kazun” are small Istrian field stone huts used as a token of protection against bad weather. That comes in handy while traveling! “Sopile” and “rozenice” are traditional musical instruments of Croatia, and there’s also Croatian honey, olives and grapes. It’s always nice to bring back native goods such as these or even homemade brandies for your delight.
Find a “gorski kotar” or Croatian jewelry box, along with wooden coats of arms, ceramic goods, and fine silks.
