Krka National Park of Croatia is a smaller version of Plitvice, and has lakes and waterfalls as well, with the extra option of dipping right in and going for a swim. It’s a better choice if you want to dodge all the tourists and be a bit more to yourself in nature.

Risnjak National Park of Croatia is covered in forest with pine and beech trees looming over curving trails and wide-open meadows covered in flowers. You might catch a bear there if you’re lucky…..or unlucky.
