Beer, or pivo, in Croatia can be found in local varieties and imported.
Some of the numerous imported brands in Croatia include Heineken, Tuborg, Gosser, Stella Artois, and many more. You can also experience the home-brewn beers of Croatia, like the Bavarian Kaltenberg brewery in Split that produces the original beer that was once in Germany.
Try the Croatian Karlovacko brewed in Karlovac or the Ozujsko brewed in Zagreb.
There’s the Osjecko from Osijek and the Staro Cesko, a Czech beer of Daruvar which is brewed in Croatia. There’s also the Velebitsko pivo, brewed in Gospic atop the Velebit mountain. It’s a small, high-quality brewery, and the dark brew was voted best beer by a popular english beer website.
